ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
SUCCESSFUL DANCE The Rex Hall, Kilbirnle, presented a gay scene this week when the Miramar Nursing Division and Wellington East Ambulance held a successful dance. There was a large attendance. Two tap dances by Miss Katie Shaw,, and an exhibition of the Spanish tango, modern waltz and quickstep by Mr. Jimmy James and Miss Iris Wakeford were much appreciated. Mr. Whitely, superintendent of the Wellington East Ambulance, gave a speech thanking members and their friends for attending and also reminding them of the dance which is being held shortly in the same hall. , The dance committee included Mrs. E. Wallis, Miss M. Edmonds,. Miss M. Bruce, and Messrs. G. Strachan, R. Marchant, and T. Philpott. . Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Whitely, Mr. and Mrs. Strachan, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Reid,- Mesdames Kane, Ross, Flannigan, Watson, Wilcox, Madsen, Gray, Wogan, Williams, Payne, and Shields; Misses Williams, Eade, Phillips (2), J. Kane, N. Waller, F. Phillips, E. Phillips, Wood (Christchurch); and Messrs. C. Connell, F. Shields, B. Shields, I. Kendrick, W. Goodwin, F. Benson, A. McMaddrick, Strachan, Cox, P. Glensor, S. Wilward, J. Glensor, R. Cutron. P. Ford, P. Hyland, T. Allcock, H., Mander, J. Chinnock, C. Marchall, G. Christy, and S. D. Ross. I
