OBITUARY
MR. J. W. BLACK The death occurred on Wednesday of Mr. John William Black, formerly of Hawera, and for ten years a familiar figure in the printing trade in Wellington. He was 61 years of age. The second son of Mr.'Robert Black, of the old coach-building firm of Rouse, Black, arid Sons, Mr. J. came to Wellington from Auckland'-, as 1 "a. youth and went to: work with C. M, Banks, Limited. He married Miss' Louise' Frith, daughter of W. Frith, a wellknown cricket professional'! Later he entered " the Government Printing Office. Twenty-four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Black went to Hawera, where he was for 13 years in charge 1 of the jobprinting (Jepartment of the "Hawera Star." His next move was to'the printing staff of the "Wanganui'Chronicle,"' and ten years ago he became town traveller for Messrs. Hutchesoh, Bowman, and Johnston, Limited, Wellington. . \
He is survived by his wife, a soiv Mr. E. B. Black, and a daughter, Mrs. A.. W. Wilson, both of Hawera. The funeral took place yesterday at the Karori Cemetery. The ■ pall-bearers' were Messrs. A. H. and A, Wbodger,' A. Black, P. E. Patrick, J. G. Osborne, and' G. Chetwin. ,
