GROUND RENTAL CASE
DECISION RESERVED Decision on the valuation of a section at the corner of Lambton Quay and Waring Taylor Street was reserved by Mr. Justice Smith in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. His Honour intimated that if he required further information evidence could be called later. . The proceedings were brought as the result of the expiration of a twentyone years' lease between the Wellington City Porporation, lessor, and the Post and Telegraph Employees' Association, lessee. Provision in the lease was made for the payment of ground rental only, with the right of renewal. The evidence on both sides was devoted mainly to valuations of various properties in the Lambton Quay area, pales of freehold and leasehold sections, and rentals of shops and offices. The hearing lasted three days. Mr. J. O'Shea. with him Mr. J. R. Marshall, appeared for the Corporation, and Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell, with him Mr. H. J. V. James, for the association.
