A meeting of the Wellington Law Students' Society was held recently when a number of new counsel argued a case before Mr. H.H. Cornish K.C. A prosecution had; been made by the police, but, after hearing counsel the judge came to the conclusion that the appeal should be allowed He then gave some extremely helpful advice and criticism to the counsel who had taken part The meeting included with a ftearty vote of thanks to Mr. Cornish. Messrs. W. L.. Ellmgham and 8./ I. appeared for the appellants, and Messrs. H. G. Duncan and H.. J- Evans for the respond-, en A - further meeting wa3 held last; Wednesday. evening, when . another mock trial took place before Mr 0., C. Mazengarb.
