A FLYING LIBRARY
The world's first flying library has just been opened in the Pacific. The Flying Clipper, America's famous trans-Pacific aeroplane, has flown a [small library to the lonely Wake and Midway Islands. Airports are situated on these islands; in connection with the air service, and one of the mechanics had the idea that he would like a book on sea shells, which abound-on the beaches of Wake and Midway He asked the library at Hawaii to send him a book on this subject by the next Clipper. His idea was followed by other men and now the first consignment of 25 books has left on its air journey to Wake. When the books have been read there the machine will fly them to* Midway, whence they will be taken back to Honolulu and a new batch sent out.
