WOMEN & PRIESTHOOD
BISHOP FAVOURS ADMISSION
LONDON, September 16.
"I have never believed that women are handicapped by their sex for the highest church offices," said the m. Rev. E. W. Barnes, Bishop of Birmingham, addressing a meeting at Selley Oak in support of the admission of women to the ministry. "I have known women who would make excellent bishops—wise, firm, and kindly," he added. "Women might be ordained tp the priesthood equally with men."
