Application for an award was made in ■ the Arbitration Court today by the i Auckland Fruit Preserving and Vegel table Canning Union. The wages _of f adult -workers except those working i as departmental foremen having been settled, the only matters in dispute are the hours of work and wages of youths and females, the rate for casual •workers, and holidays.
