POPULAR RICHARD CROOKS.

Richard Crooks, the handsome American tenor whom Messrs. J. and N. Tait are presenting in New Zealand this month, commencing at Wellington on September 29, has no ambitions to do film work because there are so many bad films, and hj would not like to risk appearing: in a poor picture. He likes broadcasting work, and loves his association with the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, where he is leading tenor. New Zealand audiences will like this big, strapping American with the lovely tenor voice; he is only 36 years of age, has no fads, and is a common-sense, good-natured man, who would make friends wherever he went, even if he could not sing a note. Messrs. Tait are presenting him with much pride in having engaged such a notable artist for the delight of concertgoers. With Fred. Schauwecker, his superb accompanist, Richard Crooks will give concerts in Wellington on September 29 and October 1; Christchurch, October 3 and 7; Dunedin, October 5; and Auckland, October 10, 13, and 15.
