Lord Waleran, who was second secretary to Sir Charles Fergusson when he was Governor-General of New Zealand, was married to Betty, younger daughter of Sir Emsley Carr. The couple are joining the Orion at Toulon for a world tour, including Australia and New 'Zealand.
The guests included Sir Isaac and Lady Isaacs, Sir Harry and Lady Brittain, Sir Henry and Lady Horton, Lord and Lady Iliffe, Sir Eoderick and Lady Jones, Viscount and Viscountess Wakefield, and Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Garvln.
