"NAUTICAL NIGHT"
CHARLEY'S AUNT CLUB
Members and friends of the Charley's Aunt Club were "all at sea" when the "s.s. Charley's Aunt" set sail in the Masonic Hall last evening. The "ship's" ballroom was gaily decorated with gold-coloured streamer's and a colourful nautical touch-was added by the display, of flags and bunting. During the "first watch," when ."Skipper" L. Bruce Quinton was at the helm, an entertaining^ dance programme was presented, interspersed with musical items. A nautical ballet dance given by pupils of Miss Hazel Martin, baritone solos by Mr. Thomas Wood, and a dialogue by the Misses Marjorie and Joy Ede (pupils of Mrs. Lewis Grant) were appreciated. :
After a savoury supper had been served the "navigating" of the "ship, i for the remainder, of the voyage was in the hands of the "first mate," Mr. Alan A. Fuller. The excellent nautical tunes rendered by the "ship's" orchestra provided the finishing touch to a very pleasant evening. A novelty dance, the "gob hat" race, was won by Mr. and Mrs. T. Tracy.
