LONDON WOOL SALES
MARKET IS CONFIDENT
(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received September 17, 10 a.m.)
LONDON, September 16,
The wool market displayed a firm confident tone at the opening of the wool sales today and pleased the brokers. Henry Dawson and Son, Ltd., consider that the position is fundamentally sound. There is an almost entire lack of speculation. France and Germany are interested in the finer grades of wool, but the chief competition comes from the Home buyers.

Offerings today were 11,482 bales, including 3405 bales New Zealand, and 8922 bales were sold.
A very good selection was submitted and met with an active demand, especially from the Home trade. Speculators' lots and greasy merinos were largely withdrawn owing to the firm limits placed on them. New Zealand slipe halfbred lambs, "Belfast," made 18d highest and 17id average.
