■ The Rt. Rev. Dr. West-Watson, Bishop of Christchurch, arrived in Wellington from the south yesterday.
A tribute to the memory of the late Mr. R. N. Wall was paid by the president (Captain W. Qlphert) at the opening of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society's show yesterday afternoon. Captain Qlphert said that the late Mr. Wall, by his endearing manner, his wonderful work with.his hands, and by his thought, had done invaluable work for the society, which was'the poorer by his passing. To Mrs: Wall and the family the society expressed the'deepest sympathy.. All present stood in silence as a mark-of respect. The death of Mr.. E. C. Pur die, who gave valuable service to the cause of education, mostly in the Auckland district, and also the. death of Mr. G. F. Judd, secretary since 1923 of tb* Wellington 'Colleges Board of Governors, were referred to with regret by the chairman (Mr. W. V. Dyer) at the meeting of the Wellington Education Board yesterday afternoon. Suitable letters ■of condolence are to be sent to the family, in each case. Graham (Sydney) are among the guests at the Hotel St. George. Messrs. Gordon Holmes (Auckland), W. H. Nicholson (Chf*istchurch)> B. Jay (London), H. W, Worrall (Melbourne), and R. T. Esther (Wairoa). are guests at the Royal Oak Hotel. Messrs. D. McClymont , (Wanganui), N. T. Frost (Twickenham,.England), H. C. Frost (New Plymouth), G. H. Kirkcaldie, H. E. Blyde, and G. H. Bell (Waverley), W. L. Green (Masterton), H. Brooks, J. Peters, and A. H. Hansen, (Dannevirke), H. E. Johnson (Hawera), A. W. Laing (Wellington), A. C. Bruce (Gisborne), G. R. Herron (Balfour), R. A.
