GOOD PROGRESS

NAVAL DISCUSSIONS

FIVE-POWER MEETING

(British Official Wlrolcss.)

(Received September 16, 11.45 a.m.) RUGBY, September 15.

A meeting took place at the Foreign Office today between naval representatives of the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. As in the case of similar discussions which have taken place recently with Russia, Germany; and Poland, the meeting considered the terms of the London Naval Treaty of 1936 and the applicability of the treaty to the navies of the four countries.

The discussions centred chiefly on technical questions, and good progress was made. '

The next meeting will take place on Thursday morning.
