ALL-ROUND FAMILY

LINE FROM SCOTTISH

QUEEN

Compass was entered in the Wellington race book as by Man o' War from a Harold Dilon mare. His dam is Highland Princess, by Harold Dillon— Scottish Queen, by Diadem from Black Angel.

Highland Princess never raced, but she is proving her worth in the brood mares' quarters, as her other progeny include Harold Denver, a winner over all distances, and Reporter, whose form at the Addington August Meeting was so good. Compass was as promising as any of them at two years.

Scottish Queen, besides Highland I Princess, left St. Bridget, 2min 14 2-ssec, and Laplander, 2min 10 l-ssec, both of whom were good winners in saddle and harness. They were full-relations to the dam of Compass. Diadem, who figures close up in the pedigree of this family, is the sire of the dams of some good pacers, notably War Buoy and Gunfire. Diadem was by Rothschild 'from Lady Tracey.
