WELLINGTON'S TURN

TEAM LEAVES TONIGHT

- Wellington's Rugby team to meet Otago in the Ranfurly Shield match at■ Dunodin next Saturday leaves for the south tonight. A change has been made necessary through the inability of A. G. Hansen to play-owing to an injured ankle.' J. Vartari has been added to the players for the southern tour, no doubt with the idea of. having him in the side as full-back if H. R. Pollock is unable to play. Pollock was injured in last Saturday's Test, and an X-ray examination showed that there was a chip off a bone in one ofhis shoulders. Mr.' M. F. Nicholls, the Wellington selector, who has returned from Dunedin, states that Pollock may be fit to play in the Shield match. Pollock, J. Wells, and J. L. Griffiths have remained in Dunedin since the' Test, but B. S. Sadler has. returned to Wellington and will leave for the south tomorrow night. The remainder of Wellington's representatives' will be in the party leaving tonight, with Mr. H. Murphy as manager.

Several of Wellington's representatives are available for the Shield match only. They are Lambourn, Hull, Wells, Griffiths, Sadler, and Andrews. The other players chosen for the southern engagements are Pollock, Vartan, Crisp, Edwards, Fleming, Nees, Baldwin, Tindill, Upchurch, Leahy, M. Wright, Devine, Fraser Smith, Lamason, Guy, Barry, and Kenny.- . A '

It is confidently expected/.that Wellington will be able to put a strong fifteen in the field next Saturday. Progress scores in the match are to be given- at Athletic Park on Saturday, the event at local- headquarters being a match with Wangaiiui.
