The initial work on the installation of the electric fountain on the Marine Parade, Napier, may be commenced in three or four weeks. An order for the necessary apparatus has been cabled to the United States, but it will not be possible for a start to be made with the foundations until working plans come to hand. One of the early tasks will be the construction of the miniature lake in which the fountain is to be set, following which the erection of the concrete base and chambers for the electrical equipment will be carried out. It is hoped that the fountain will be installed and in working order well before the Christmas holidays.
