A COSMOPOLITAN CREW
The Duke of Gloucester Cup, which will be run on the second day of the Grand National Meeting, has drawn a mixed field of twenty-two horses. Hurdlers and hunters will compete with hacks and horses that race in open company..
■Maine, winner of the Whyte Handicap at Wellington, heads the handicaps with 12.9, while Ponty,- fresh from hack company and a Winter Cup candidate, has 12.8. Signaller leads the hurdlers with 11.11, and Metal 'Bird, another Winter Cup candidate, follows other hurdlers in Courtyard, Hunting [Go, and Santoft in the weights. The minimum, 10.7, is comprised of hacks in Jack Ahoy and1 Redtop, the hurdler, Wexford Bridge, and the hunter, Acena. Students of form have been set a hard task to work out something which is akin to a crossword puzzle, but the acceptances should help to make their task much easier.;,
