G. J. COLES' STORES.
The rumour that the Australian chain store company of G. J. Coles, Ltd., will open branches in New Zealand has been revived. They were current in Wellington two or three years ago. The Melbourne "Argus" states that early in July the shares were carried to 88s,' chiefly because of large buying orders from. New Zealand. There was a rumour in the Melbourne market at the time that the company would probably open branches. in New Zealand, and that new capital would be required for the purpose. Nothing official has been heard, on. this subject, but there are still some supporters of the shares who believe that expansion to the Dominion would be a natural move for the company.
