PARKING AT POINT JERNINGHAM
A special appeal to all motorists notto park across the pedestrians' part of the roadway at Point Jerningham was made by Mr. E.Palliser, chairman of the roads committee of the Automobile Association (Wellington) at the executive- meeting of the association on Monday. Observations made; said Mr. Palliser, showed that the method of parking cars at Point Jerningham made conditions very difficult, and unsafe for pedestrians. Fifteen to twenty selfish or thoughtless motorists had parked their cars right against the sea wall, and across the gravel way intended for pedestrians. As a result, pedestrians were forced out on to the bitumen.' It was an extremely dangerous practice and the association appealed to all motorists to park their cars so that pedestrians would have ths right of way near the sea wall The City Engineer had advised that funds were not available this year for the provision of more footpaths on the Marine Drive, . ■
