Bowlers were well to the fore ia the county cricket matches which were completed today. . Larwood and Voee I (Nottinghamshire) shared the Kent^ wickets between them in the second ! innings, and both completed tallies oG 100 wickets for the season. ■ Mercer"] (Glamorgan) distinguished himself by. taking all the Worcestershire wickets at a cost of 51 runs in the first innings. Other bowlers who did well included Smailes (Yorkshire), Wright (Kent), Partridge (Northamptonshire), and - Boyes and Creese (Hampshire). A double century went to the credit of Sutcliffe (Yorkshire), Leyland scoring a century in the same innings. The century, was also reached by Ashdown (Kent). Middlesex, at Scarborough.—Middlesex, 127 (Smailes seven, for 72) and 172 (Bowes five for 42). Yorkshire/469 (Sutcliffe 202, Leyland 107). Yorkshire won by an innings and 170 runs. Kent v. Nottinghamshire, at Nottingham.—Kent,' 415 (Ashdown 101) and 143 (Voce four for 70, Larwood six ' for 64). Nottinghamshire, 283 (Hardsfaff 78) and 181 for nine (Wright six for 72). Kent won on the first innings. : Northamptonshire v. Sussex, at Hove. —Northamptonshire, 168 (Timms 97 not out; Tate, five for 60) and 105 for five. Sussex, 231 (Partridge seven for 78). Sussex won on the' first innings. Worcestershire v. Glamorgan, at Worcester.—Worcestershire, 143 (Mercer ten for 51) and 163 for five, declared. Glamorgan, 151' (Howorth four for 31) and 56 for four. Glamorgan won on the first innings. Lancashire v. Hampshire, at Southampton.—Lancashire, 98 (Herman four for 21, Boyes six for 16) and 99 (Creese eight for 37). Hampshire, 143 (Hopwood five for 16, Booth five for 51) and 55 for two. Hampshire won by eight wickets.
