THE MARTHA REPORT
The following information has been cabled to London by the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Ltd.:—No 2 Level, Bell Reef.—The crosscut at 434 ft west was extended south and the next 25ft is country rock and the next 2ft is quartz, assaying. 34s a ton. A drive west has been commenced on this vein. -No. 6 level, North Branch, Martha Lode.—Driving west, the next 15ft has a sloping value of 24s 9d a ton and the next.24ft assays 16s 3d a ton, the reef being about 9in wide. No. 7 Level, North Branch, Martha Lode.—North-west crosscut is now out 43/ ft in blue andesite with oxidised joints. Junction No J 8 level, Royal Lode.—Sinking No. 4 winze, the next 10ft assays 9s 6d a ton. The lode was crosscut at 72ft down and measuring from the south wall the first 14ft assays 9s a ton,' the next 4ft 20s 3d a ton, and the last 4ft 6s 9d a ton. GOLD RECOVERY, LTD.
