RUMOUR & CONTRADICTION
Rumour has been busy in the Isle of Wight to the effect that Queen Mary was negotiating to buy St. Lawrence Hall, near Ventnor, the beautiful country seat, of Lady Jellicoe and the late Lord Jellicoe; Lady Jellicoe denied the report to a "Sunday Express" representative.
"I have heard the rumour, but it is.untrue," she said. "The Queen has never approached me about the matter. I do not know how- the report arose." St. Lawrence Hall—which was offered for sale in 1925 by. Lord Jellicoe is a magnificent mansion and estate with a view of the English Channel. It has beautifully pleasure grounds, rose gardens, tennis ' courts, a tea house, glasshouses, and ■• an' orchard.
