SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. -4u. anticyclone still extends across tho North Island to the eastwards, while a series of very shallow depressions has been advancing over tho Tasmau Sea and passing to the south of Xew Zealand. Northerly breezes haro consequently predominated and the weather has been fair to cloudy and rather mild generally, but light showers have occurred at a few isolated places, mainly on the AYest Coast of the South Island.
