VISIT TO GENEVA
LEAGUE'S INVITATION
NEW ZEALANDER HONOURED
> (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 14.; By special invitation from the League of Nations, Dr. R. R. D. Milligan, president of the Christchurch branch of the League of Nations Union, will attend a meeting of the Assembly of the. .League at Geneva in September. Dr. Milligan received the invitation by ■ cable on Sunday, and will leave for Europe on Monday. Dr. Milligan's cablegram, from, M. Joseph Avenol, Secretary-General ; of, the League of Nations, invited him' to attend a session of the Assembly as collaborator with the secretariat.- His visit is in no way connected with that of the official delegation being sent by the New Zealand Government, for in his case the initiative comes directly from the League itself. : . *)r. Milligan will be temporarily attached to the stau? of the League. It is not a permanent appointment, for toe terms are limited to a month '.rom September 17. but it will enable him to study the work of the League at close quarters. Dr Milligan had not expected the invitation, but is gratified to have received it, because of his great interest in the League over a period of years.l '
