MISSING SON FOUND
Two legacies of £1000 each in the will of Mr Charles Ivimey Barratt, of Woodlands Grove, Weybridge, who died in February, leaving £21,384 (net personalty £ 17.476) have resulted in the discovery of a son who had been missing for seventeen years Mr Barratt bequeathed £1000 to his son Charles Ralph Barratt and £1000 to his son's wife He stated that he had not heard from him for some time, and did not .know where he was or whether he was alive. He directed the Public Trustee to advertise for him. Mr Charles Barratt and his wife sepa rated seventeen years ago and the separation caused father and son to become estranged. Neither saw each, other from that time Since the ad vertisements had been inserted in papers young Mr Barratt visited Wey bridge to see Mrs Barratt. sen., his stepmother She has been in touch with her stepson's wife, a < Belgian woman, who after the separation returned to her native country The question now arises whether she will be able to claim the legacy, because under the Belgian law a married woman has no rights apart from her husband.
