A former London lady who witnessed in Wellington the first presentation recently of- Mrs. Nellie Cruttenden's play,'. "A Modern Judgment of Paris," which is to" be repeated in the Concert Chamber on Thursday evening, declared the play to be not only well conceived but presented in . a manner that would do credit anywhere. Particular stress was laid on the remarkable frocking. enhanced by special lighting effects. The" presentation will be preceded by humorous thumbuail sketches by principals of the Amateur Operatic Society, a humorous chalk-talk, song scenas, a novel dance duo, and some Dickens characterisations. Four different dnncers in special work prepared by Miss Majorie Vause and Mr. Joseph Knowslnv are introduced in the play itself. The performance is to be nresented on behalf of thr> ladies' auxiliary of the Otqki Health Csmn and a verv encouraging sale of tickets has already resulted. Booking is at Begg s. ■
