PATRIOTIC FUNDS
POLICY JUSTIFIED

PALMERSTON N,, This Day.
Thanks to the wisdom and farsighted policy of the executive of the Manawatu Patriotic-Society, the funds of the institution are in such a healthy condition that ex-servicemen need not fear that in the future their requirements will have to suffer. This is the keynote of the annual report of the society just released.'
The furjds were zealously guarded for a great day of need, and the president (Mr. A. E. Mansfprd). points oulthat that day-to some extent has already arrived. He appeals- to the executive to continue to fulfil the high destiny of the society, and to discharge with sympathy and generosity the trusts that were imposed by those thousands of people who contributed tc the fund. - It is heartening to realise that a large number of ex-servicemen are, now getting opportunities of employment. _'■..'
