GERMAN CLUB
The last two fortnightly meetings o* the German Club proved unusually interesting. Under the direction erf Mrs. Wallace an extremely humorous: playette entitled "A Marriage has Beep Disarranged" was staged. The play was in parts delicately subtle, callins for clever handling, but the cast, entirely feminine, were quite equal to their task. The various character? were represented by Mesdames Wallace, McKinnon, Herfort, Pallo, Tewsley, Spencer, and Dr. Short. The principal item of the'second evening wa.= an illustrated lecture by Dr. Lochorp who had spent a period as a studen* in German universities. He dealt mainly with student life in Bonn, the beauties of the Rhine territory, and with the youth movement that has taken so strong a grip of the Germans. He carried his hearers on a fascinating journey through some of the most historic and picturesque parts of Germany. Miss Gilpin, accompanied by Mrs. Foster, contributed several German lieder. Other members of the club also contributed generously to the general good. .
