WEDDING
DENYER-SIMMONS—HARRIS.
The wedding was solemnised at St. Peter's Church recently of Harriett, daughter of Mr. -and-'Mrs. G. Harris, arid Charles Denyer-Simmons,-of Wellington. The Yen. Archdeacon Bullock performed the ceremony, and Mr. Short presided at the organ.
The bride, who was escorted by her father; was attended ;by her small niece, Patricia Munro, and three bridesmaids, Misses Gwen Eccleston (chief) and Betty and Dianna Elliott. Mr. Syd Morris was best man. The beautiful bridal gown of.pearl,satin was cut on the latest draped lines, with a long train and a new graceful neckline. A flat pearl band and clusters of orange blossom held the embroid.ered veil in place. She carried a double sheaf of hothouse flowers and freesias. The flower-girl's ankle-length frock of apricot crepe satin had a scolloned frill of knife pleating trimmed with coloured flowers; she wore silver leaves and velvet flowers in, her hair, and carried a silver basket of matching flowers. The three bridesmaids were dressed alike in apricot crepe satin, cut on classical lines, with cowl necks, and shirred, raglan sleeves; They wore bands of silver leaves and flowers' in their hair and carried long garlands of apricot flowers. The bride's attendants each wore a pearl necklace, the gifts of the bridegroom. As she left the church the bride was presented with three lucky horseshoes.
The reception was held at the Oddfellows' ■. Hall, where about . one hundred guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Harris, the latter wearing black silk relieved with mushroom pink, a black velvet felt toque, and black fox fur. A feature of interest was the three-tired heart-shaped wedding cake. Items were given by Miss M., Beverage and Miss D. Elliott. When the bride and bridegroom left for Palmerston North en route to Auckland, the bride travelled in a navy costume and pearl satin blouse, with navy accessories and fox furs.
