A string; quartet, Dr':~ A. C. Keys and Messrs. R. Davies.L. Logan, and J. S., Lomas, played Allegro Vivace and Allegretto (Haydn) and "Corizometta" (Mendelssohn). Mr. Will Mason sang "Kings of the Road." Miss Evelyn Goldsmith gave a musical monologue, and Mr. Hertiert F. Wood sang "I Care Not If the Cup I Hold" (Basil Hood), and as an encore, the "Good-bye" song from "White Horse Inn." Mrs. Amy Woodward's solo was "Rorhanza" from "Cavalleria Rusticana," and with Mr. Herbert Wood she sang the duets "Pardon Madame" from "Victoria and Her Hussar" arid "Bird Songs at Eventide." The accompanists were Misses Lalla 'Vondersloot and Patricia Beckett. The serviflg of. a delicious supper made it possible for members to meet the' guests of honour and to enjoy general'conversation. MELROSE BASKETBALL CLUB

The Melrose, Basketball Club held a very successful dance recently in Miss Margaret O'Connor's studio. There was a large attendance and the function went with a swing from the .beginning.. The orchestra provided excellent music and the office of M.C. was cap ably performed by Mr. C, Hood: The Monte Carlo prizes were won by Miss N. Fulton and partner and Miss L. Nunns and partner. Miss M. Moynihan and Mr. J. Cottier demonstrated the quickstep and Rumba, and a delightful exhibition of tap dancing was given by Miss Margaret Tallantire.

The pommittpe rpsponsible for the organisation of the dance consisted of Mesdames Simpson (who wore black taffeta), O'Connor (black georgette), and Misses Clark (blue blistered crepe), P. Flan (apple green voile), O'Connor (black velvet), Murin (powder blue lace), I. Musgrove (pink satin), Simpson (flame.Velvet), and J. Flan (blue lace over satin).
