A TRIBUTE FROM FOKKER
Mr. Anthony Fokker, the Dutch aero, plane builder, paid' a .high tribute' t» Imperial Airways recently. '
s "They will soon have at their-dis-posal," he ' said, "twenty-eight' - giant aeroplanes - and ; twenty-eight fourengined seaplanes, all of the most modern design, I have the greatest admiration for the steady .lines of development they have followed.'l also have noticed that this is the.policy of.British aviation generally. Imperial Airways have never allowed'themselves .to.be influenced by the temporary-spurts of competitors, although they use these as stimulating influences. I put them; up as an example to others,: my own country included." . .. ..:.""■
I Mr. Fokker gave details of his latest 'plan for the Fokker F. 56, a four-engine'd | giant aeroplane which can carry 56 passengers and a crew of five to ' six* This- machine is a double-decker. The aeroplane's maximum speed' will be 220' miles an hour. Its low luggage room could, if necessary, be used as a .storeroom for bombs • and aerial torDedoes. - ■ • ■'■■'.
