BERLIN, July 12.
German hopes.of success in the track and field events at the Olympic Games are not considered rosy in view, of the performances in the amateur athletic championships which opened yesterday. Even when new. German records were established in throwing the hammer, and the long jump, .the results were well below the world records. '
