SPANISH FASCISTS
RADIO STATION OCCUPIED
(Received July 13, 9.40 a.m.) MADRID, July 12. A group of well-armed Fascists attacked and occupied the radio transmitter station at Valencia and broadcast the news of their coup, winding up with the cry: "Up Spain. Long live Fascism."
Police ejected the Fascists and the staff reoccupied the building, broadcast the defeat of the Fascists, and then played the Spanish National Anthem for 20 minutes to reassure the country, while the population of the town demonstrated in the streets against Fas.cism and set fire to several Rightist buildings.
