"THE GAME OF FITBA'"

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l am not interested in "Soccer" or Association football, but your correspondent "Association Football" states that "Scottle's" compatriots could get no nearer to the pronunciation of the world football than "fitba." I would like to remind him that he need not go further than his own native heath to hear mispronunciation of the English language and that from his own compatriots. We Scots have a language of our own (not slang) but when we speak English we pronounce it correctly.—l am, etc.,

SCOTTIE FROM KELBURN.
