The Shandon ladies beat the Waiwetu. ladies in a Mary Alward Cup match at Shandon on Saturday by six points to four.
. The following are the results, Shandon players mentioned first:—Miss Robinson lost to Mrs. Hatfield, 2 and 1; Mrs. King lost to Mrs. Smith, 1 down; Miss Hodgins beat Miss Horman, 5 and 3; Mrs. Burke lost to Miss Milne, 2 down; Miss Davidson beat Miss. Findlay, 6 and 4; Miss Smith and Miss Frazer, all square; Mrs. Findlay and Miss Reid, all square; Mrs. Ryan beat Miss Taylor, 6 and 5; Miss Pownall beat Miss Chitty, 4 and 3; Mrs. Hipkins beat Miss Bowler, 5 and 3. Other games were:—Miss Read beat Mrs. Palmer, 1 up; Miss Vallance beat Miss Haggitt, 1 up. The following are the results of the games in connection with the Forbes Cup:—Miss Robinson beat Mrs. Frazer, 2 and 1; Mrs. Burke beat Miss Hodgins, 1 up; Mrs. Johnston beat Miss Souter, 6 and 4; Miss Read beat Miss Sidford, 6 and 5; Mrs. Low beat Miss Kendall, 5 and 4; Mrs. Hipkins beat Miss Ellison, 8 and 7; Miss Rowe beat Miss Smith, 4 and 3: Mrs. Hegarty beat Miss Charlton, 1 up at the twentieth.
