The Badges were again played for on Saturday afternoon and the Island Bay holders—Billings, Ricketts, Hart, and Lawrie—were successful in stalling off a challenge, from the Petone rink—Hyland,. Ross, Hansen, Munro, and Duncan, were defeated by Wrigley, Ridley, McWhannel, and Wellings by 22-17. Tha Hutt rink, Muter, Scott, Hewer, and Davidson, were defeated after a close game, the score being 18-16. RINK CHAMPIONSHIP. About 20 entries have been received for the indoor rink championships tournament. Entries were to have closed on Saturday last, but as there are several. who have not yet completed their rinks it has been decided to extend the closing date to next Saturday. Provision is made in this competition for afternoon and evening players. The Post and Telegraph Pastimes Club held an evening tournament, when five games of five heads were played, the players being interchanging after each game. The following were successful in gaining the prizes for the respective positions:—Lead, Grindrod; second, Capstick; third, Lonsdale; skip. Cooke.
