A MISSING WITNESS

When the name of a . witness was called in the Magistrate's Court this morning it was found that the witness had apparently lost himself somewhere in the court buildings. Accordingly the Court orderly' was asked, to call his name in other parts •6f the building, and the orderly -left the court room. Some time.' elapsed/ and another police officer . also left i the court room to continue the search. After some minutes Senior-Sergeant J. Dempsey informed the Magistrate, Mr. W. F. Stilwell, that he had already sent a sergeant to search . for the Court orderly. Mr. Stilweli replied, "Don't send any more. We might lose the lot." Subsequently the sergeant returned with the Court orderly, who brought the missing witness.
