RECEIVING CHARGES
A remand until July 1 was granted in the case of Andrew Bremner, who appeared before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today on two charges of receiving stolen goods. Mr. C. H. Arndt appeared for the accused. The accused was charged with receiving, on December 23, 1935, a radio set valued at £18 18s, the property, of Philips Lamps (N.Z.), Ltd., Wellington, and with receiving on December 27, 1935, an electric clock valued at £2, the property of Fred Morton Lockwood.
Bail was granted in the sum of £50, with one surety of £50.
Information that he had obtained enough signatures to make it a payable proposition to supply electricity to the Guildford and Pinehaven Estates (Silverstream) was given by the engineer and general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands) at tiie meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon. Authority was given for the electricity to be supplied. Colonel and Mrs. H. Evans, of England, who have been visiting Australia, arrived at Auckland from Sydney by the Wanganella to spend a short holiday in New Zealand.
