A novel use for the world's newest [building material, glass blocks, has (been found by citizens in Toledo, Ohio. The translucent blocks are being used in that city for house foundations, and by keeping a few low-watt bulbs burning in the basements at night people have found that police, watchmen. or pnssersby can more quickly detect thieves and prowlers.
