; Nearly 800 names now are on the roster of the exclusive Caterpillar Club, that mythical organisation of flyers whose lives have been saved by emergency parachute jumps. The membership includes 771 names, 762 men and nine women, but 32 members of the club have made two jumps each, one has made three, and Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh has made four emergency leaps. Sixty-nino emergency jumps were made in 1935, compared with 84 in 1934. The highest number was in 1930, when 134 persons yanked the rip cords of their parachutes to gain a new lease of life'ji 1
