INFERIOR QUALITY LAMBS. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-00. , Distributing Co.. Ltd., report on the Feilding sale:—The quality of the fat Jambs was for the most part inferior, consequently bidding was slow with a slight easing' in prices. In the fat sheep section the offering of wethers consisted of plain and unfinished sorts, most lots selling at slightly above store rates. Fat ewes were easier. The heavy yarding of store sheep of all classes was mixed in quality. For good lots of in-lamb ewes there was a good demand, but prices show no appreciable alterations. .Good strong wether lambs sold freely at last week's rates. Beef cattle were yarded in average numbers. The quality was mixed and values slightly easier. The demand for dairy cattle close to profit was strong. Low-conditioned backward sorts were relatively low. A good offering of boner cows showed a slight increase in prices. Quotations: —Fat sheep: Lambs, 17s 9d, 18s, 18s 4d, 18s 9d, 19s 6d, to 22s 8d; wethers, prime, 26s 6d to 29s 6d, plain and unfinished 24s 4d to 255; ewes, prime and heavy, 21s Id to 22s 8d; ewes, prime, 20s to 20s lid, plain 17s to 18s 6d; 2-tooth ewes r.w. FAT WETHERS RECOVER. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a heavy entry ot sheep, fair entries of beef and dairy cattle, and a light entry of store cattle at the Feilding sale. Fat lambs sold steadily at late rates, the majority of the yarding lacking quality. Fair competition was forthcoming for fat wethers, which recovered tne easing in price experienced last week. Fax ewes sold on a par with recent sales, lower prices being recorded on most lines owing to the indifferent quality. One of the heaviest yardings of breeding ewes experienced for many weeks was penned and. a number of reliable useful lines of ewes were included. Sales were made at what appeared to be reasonable figures, allowing for the work and grazing that has been supplied to them, and some- lots appeared to be better buying than at the ewe lairs. The yarding in this section comprised low-mouthed and nondescript sorts. For these competition was dull. However, the majority of the entry changed hands at auction. Store hoggets were yarded in fair numbers with only about three small lines of ewe hoggets coming in. Competition was good except for the lowest grade.

I The beef offering was not a heavy ione and competition was anything but | bright. A'very light entry, of store cattlc sold quite well' and the dairy cows and heifer's met with fair competition.
