UNIVERSITY TOURNEY
The annual New Zealand University women's hockey tournament will take place at Wellington from June 20 to June 23, teams from each of the four university colleges competing for the University Challenge Stick. Matches will be played at Karori Park, the draw fpr next Saturday being Canterbury v. Victoria at 9.30 a.m. and Auckland v. Otago at 10.30 a.m. On Saturday night the visitors will be entertained at a picture party, and on Sunday a motor drive will be organised. Monday's matches will be Victoi'ia v. Auckland, at 10 a.m.; Canterbury v. Otago, at 11 a.m.; Victoria v. Otago, at 2 p.m.; and Auckland v. Canterbury, at 3 p.m. The New Zealand team to be selected by Mrs. J. H. Poulter will play a Wellington team on the following day at 9.20 a.m. at Karori. The annual dinner and presentation of the trophy will be held at the National' Club on 'Monday, followed by the tournament ball at Victoria College. Victoria's team for 1936 is as strong as in previous years, and under the able coaching of Mr. Kean should have a good chance of winning the stick from the present holders, Canterbury.
