STOP OUT CLUB

ANNUAL REUNION "The whole object of our club," said the Rev. T. Fielden Taylor at the annual reunion of the Stop Out Club, of which he is president, last night, "is to develop our members in every possible way—-in • body, mind, and soul. This has always been our endeavour, and I may presume to hope that we have had some measure of success. I hope and trust that the same club spirit prevails among the younger members of our club as years ago, when we started in a much humbler way than we carry on today." A tribute to the work of the president was paid by the Rev. H. Kenny. 'It is not generally realised," he said, "how far our president's influence has spread. In all parts of the world— and I am not exaggerating when J say this—you will come across men who know him and have been inspired by their contact with" him. Two great jualities he possesses—'the power of seeing whatever good there is in one, and the supreme gift of optimism. It is his perpetual spirit of youthfulness that has enabled him to carry out all the work he has done in this city." Other speakers were Brother W. Moore, Mr. H. Irving, Mr. H. H. Lloyd, Mr. R. W. Kemp, and Mr. R. Dunn. Trophies were presented as follows:—Silver cup for best all-round -■ricketer, E. Boyton; cup for highest lggregate at cricket, J. Baxter; Peterson memorial medal for keenness, L, Morgan; medal for most improved slayer, J. O'Connor: silver table tenuis bats for club championships, C. Uummings (A grade), K. Barrett (B trade). •
