ENGLISH COMPOSER

A POSSIBLE VISIT Some weeks ago the "London Suite,'* one of Eric Coates's famous works, was played by the De Luxe Theatre .Oreh»» tra, and had an enthusiastic reception. Mr. L. D. Austin, conductor of the orchestra, wrote to Mr. Coates enclosing reports on the performance, and he has now received a letter of thanks and appreciation from .the composer, who states that he will be shortly sending out his latest suite, "London Again.™ He suggests also the possibility of visiting Wellington. This, Mr. Austin writes, arises from a suggestion he made that the approaching Centenary Exhibition might afford Mr. Coates an opportunity to conduct his own works before Wellington audiences. A celebrity conductor would certainly be an attraction which should commend itself to the exhibition committee.
