DEMAND IN FRANCE
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
RUSH TO JOIN UNIONS ] (Received June 8, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 7. The "Daily Telegraph's" Paris correspondent says that it is understood that the French Air Minister, M. Cot, told aircraft strikers- that the Government would take over the aircraft factories if the employers refused to grant collective bargaining. This is almost an innovation in France, and the demand for it has augmented the membership of the trade unions by 480,000 in four days. Bank clerks have joined the strikers, and 60 fresh strikes have occurred in the metal trades.
