HARRIERS

I MASTERTON CLUB'S VISIT The'Kiatere Harrier Club, Masterton, paid a return visit to the C.Y.M. Club on Saturday afternoon, and an enjoyable run was held from the Riddiford Baths, Lower Hutt. The trail left the Riddiford Baths, and proceeded up the main road to Melling Bridge, up the hill to Normandale Road, and then branched across the hills to Park Road, Belmont, and along the Western Hutt Road back to the Riddifcrd Baths. The runners were divided into two packs. The first man in the slow pack was K. McDonald (Kiatere), and he was followed by R. S. O'Dell (C.Y.M.). In.the fast pack the first men home were M. Quail, B. Greeks; and W. McDonald (all of Kiatere), followed by G. Keppleston (C.Y.M.). After the run the visitors were entertained to afternoon tea by women supporters at St. James Hall, Woburn Road. An enjoyable'day was brought to a close with a social held in Miss Eva Draper's studio.

WELLINGTON CLUB About 25 members of the Wellington Harrier Club held a run of five miles at Wadestown on Saturday. The course led from Pitt Street down the gully, and up through Ngaio on to the hills behind. It.followed the hills for some distance and then circled back to the lane alongside the station. The course then led parallel to the railway line back to Pitt Street. No run-in was held, as the packs lost the trail and came in by different routes. The run .next week will be held at Hataitai, and a full attendance is anticipated on account of the proximity of the Dome Cup race.
