SOUTH ISLAND INTERESTS ASSOCIATION PROPOSED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUnCH, May 31. The formation of an association to develop tourist traffic in the South Island and Stewart Island will be considered at a conference to be held in Chrißtchurch in June or July. In vita- J tions to attend the conference will be sent by. the Lyttelton Harbour Board to harbour boards, city, borough, and county councils, tourist and travel organisations, hotel and hostel interests, progress leagues, chambers of ■ commerce, automobile associations, and other organisations in the South Island , interested in the development and ; welfare of the tourist trade. It is proposed ,to call the> organisa- ; tion the South Island Travel Associa* i tion of New Zealand, and it will be i modelled on the Australian National Travel Association.
