ALBERTA MYSTERY
THE FINANCIAL ADVISER
Mr. Aberhart's perseverance with Mr. K. J. Magor, Montreal "financier, whom he appointed to advise his Government when Major Douglas refused to come to Alberta, is one of the many mysteries ' surrounding the Social Credit Premier, writes "The Post's" Vancouver correspondent. Mr. Magor is an orthodox student of finance, whose methods would be commended by the Bank of England. Yet, in spite of bitter- protests, cabled by Major Douglas, Mr. Magor is retained! The inevitable happened when the small but very active Opposition in the Alberta House asked Mr.'Magor, before the Public Accounts Committee, what were his views on Social Credit. He said he had no opinions on the subject, and was unable to say %vhether the Social Credit dividend would ever be paid.l , At Ottawa, Mr. Dunning, the Minister of Finance, spoke in the same strain.. "I may be dense," he said, "but no one has yet succeeded in making me understand. what Social Credit really is." . .
