ly, could not put in an appearance owing to vacation,. and their match against Swifts was'accordingly abandoned, ' last season's champion team not being seen in play. S-.vifts' performance today .will, be looked forward to with interest..- ■ . ■ Perhaps the biggest surprise of all last Saturday was the defeat of the Technical Old Girls' team by the College Old Girls. Last'year T.O.G. had one of the finest combinations in Wellington, and finished the, season well up on the championship ladder. Last Saturday, however, they did'not seem to "get going," and C.O.G. quickly built up a substantial lead, largely with the aid of Misses McGill, Morris, and Pickering. ■ The ground was soft and slippery, and Technical did hot-take enough' advantage of their wings. Miss Pickering, C.O.G. winger, played her usual good game,, her centres being welltimed and accurate. Technical Old Girls had two players missing at the commencement of the game, but, in spite of the efforts of Misses K. Dunce, J. Mack, H. McLellan, and others, could not make up the leeway;
