LEMONS FOR BEAUTY
Lemons have always been considered valuable beauty aids as well as "being useful for many other household requirements (states, the Melbourne "Age"). The following hints will therefore prove handy to those who-"take care of themselves." . For- ; instance, lemon juice will soften water in which you wash y?ur face, and bleach and soften the s&in-at the same time.,. The juice of 'half '. a' lemon," squeezed into a tuVnbler of new milk, is an excellent astringent, and .an . anti-freckle lotion. -Lempn juice, will also be found useful for removing tartar from the teeth. Simply,roll a piece of, cotton wool round a "tooth pick,"dip it in the'
jfernon juice, and use this for removing, the tartar. It will also remove warts and soften the hands. If you suffer .with sore feet, then, again, lemons will be found handy. Cut a slice of-lemon and bind it round a corn to soften'and remove it, or when a .bunion is' the trouble simply Tub witti half a lemon. A cooling and refreshing treatment in summer is to go over both feet with a cut lemon. If lemons are warmed before, being squeezed more than the usual quantity of juice may be extracted. Pour boiling water over hard lemons to soften them. A cut lemon will keep fresh for a long time if the cut side is placed on a piece of waxed paper to. exclude the air. ■
